Eyes of Grandeur

Branching Narrative

A detailed flowchart or storyboard diagram with interconnected boxes and paths, possibly representing scenes or steps in a narrative, with some boxes containing text labels related to storytelling, characters, and actions.

Turning a story from a novel or short story to a branching narrative experience requires putting yourself in the shoes of the character the players will be in control of.

When I thought about this, I looked at how Gabriel would think and react to any given situation and then I thought about how others may want him to react to a given situation.

Making a branching narrative makes you not only consider what you as the author would want the character to do but also what other options are available to the player? What options make sense and how will these decisions make sense in the long run?

This project is a work in progress but the image you see if a visual representation of the branches you have available to you during your playthrough of the game.
